Not only do they take quite a bit of time to make, they also take quite a few flowers to make. This is a floral design worth considering though. What an impact this wall of flowers makes!

My first Flower Wall
This is most definitely a labor of love. This took many hours to determine the best type of frame to use, how to construct the frame, how to make sure the frame would not fall over, how many flowers to use, how to attach them, what types of flowers to use…seriously, many, many hours of preparation and then 8 hours of my time, plus 8 hours of my assistants time and about 4 hours of time from the four ladies doing the prep work for us in the back room.
I’ve seen other flower walls and most recently saw two flower walls that were both created for Kim Kardashian. When I saw this wall I started really thinking about how I would make one of these. Since I teach floral design, I have been receiving a lot of questions from other florists on how to make a flower wall.

Then I saw the flower wall created for the Kimye wedding in Italy and my heart began to sing. I think this is the ultimate backdrop for a wedding ceremony! How fantastic it would be to be glazing upon this flower wall backdrop.
So when one of my students contacted me and asked if I would help her create a flower wall I was super excited. And, since I knew this was something I wanted to document and include in my next Extreme Floral Design Workshop series, it was a great opportunity I just could not pass.
The flower wall I created was actually for an Indian celebration called Guru Purnima. Guru Purnima is a three day celebration of spiritual and academic teachers. I was told that in India, children are sent off to school and consequently spend a great deal of their time growing up in the presence of their teachers. Because of this, teachers are well respected and held in high regard. The celebration is a way to show respect and gratitude to the teachers who have had such a large influence on the children of India. Guru Purnima is primarily celebrated by Hindus and Buddhists.
